IRISH MEADOWS’ PERUVIAN CARBON COPY

Carbon is a 6 X Champion with twelve Champion cria and many first place winners under his belt.

Carbon takes after his sire, Avalon's Jacob Black - 19X champion black who stamps his mark on all his cria. It's no surprise that Jacob Black took the 2015 & 2016 Dark Reserve Championship at the Futurity. Jacob Black's bloodlines have been closed to the outside, so we are thrilled to have him in the Pacific Northwest.

Carbon, like Jacob Black, is stamping out Champion after Champion. Now a part of the Odin Falls herd, Carbon is on his way to another string of Champions. Keep your eyes on Odins' 2023 Porsche on his way to stardom. So far, he has produced multiple beautiful Grays. He also throws Blacks and Dark Browns.

Many thanks Allen Kallel at Odin Falls Alpacas for donating a breeding to this fantastic male.

Can't be there in person? Oh, too bad you'll miss the excitement and fun. But you don't have to miss out on this opportunity. Just contact Michael Gomes at alpacasof5s@yahoo.com or Tommie Smith at tommied@sonic.net to arrange a phone bid.

I'm excited to introduce our 2023 Gold Country Gathering/California Classic herdsire auction donations. Every single one of them is extraordinary! Here is Crescent Moon's description of their contribution.

CRESCENT MOON’S ANAEROBICO

"When selecting a future stud, the deciding factor (in our humble opinion) should be the Dam. Crescent Moon’s Breathless is a legend in our little herd here at Crescent Moon Ranch and she is also the dam of Crescent Moon’s Anaerobico. Her two offspring last year at the National Show were champion grey female and Reserve Champion Brown male. Not too shabby, wouldn’t you agree? Anaerobico earlier this year closed out a monster show career. Along the way he won not only many championships/reserve championships at affiliate shows but also these distinctions at the most competitive shows in the country, The National Show twice the reserve champion and the Futurity, this year’s color champion. We are proud to offer this handsome stud for your breeding consideration. Good luck to all the bidders!"

Yes, good luck indeed. Thank you Scott and Debbie Miller at Crescent Moon Alpacas! We’re thrilled to offer this generous donation.

Get in on the ground floor while you can!

ROCKSTAR’S RENEGADE

If you're looking for a beautiful male who will offer uniformity and fineness, density, handle, staple length, and brightness to your females, please take a look at ROCKSTAR’s Renegade. Renegade does not disappoint in this regard with the addition of a gorgeous head, beautiful coverage, and mellow personality. Renegade debuted in the show ring at our 2019 fall show taking first place in his juvie class and went on to win the Reserve Color Championship for white males. Judge's comments highlighted his very, very fine fleece that is deceivingly dense, with a lovely handle and long-staple with advanced architecture in exhibited from the skin to tip. The covid pandemic unfortunately and drastically slowed down Renegade’s ability to enter competition on the show circuit for a few years. Fortunately, we showed his fleeces over those years yielding good results with positive recognition. At the 2021 National Fleece Show Renegade took first in his class earning him an Advanced Fleece Award. In 2022 at the National Fleece Show he again earned another Advanced Fleece Award scoring an impressive 85/100 in points on the scorecard. Most impressive - he scored 19/20 for fleece weight! Renegade followed up his Natl’s fleece performance with a great showing in both the Autumn Fleece Extravaganza and finally PNAA IFA Fleece Show in which he won the Grade 3 White Color Championship at 4 years of age, along with Advanced fleece awards in both shows.

We are very excited about his contribution to our herd - he certainly has a bright future ahead of him. His fee will certainly go up once he has cria on the ground.

Many thanks to Lisa Beatty of Rockstar Alpacas for her generous offer of a breeding to this special male who promises to stand out as a true Rockstar once his progeny hit the show circuit.

What a unique and incredible male from head to toe! It doesn’t get much better than this!

RGR BOCO RATON BY VAL D LSERE

Data is the best judge of how an animal is doing. Everything about show placements under different certified judges and micron tests throughout the lifetime of the animal are both equally important in presenting them. Everything about the show placements in fleece and halter have indicated that RGR Boco Raton By Val D Lsere has a chance to be very important. This male, at this moment in time, profiles very competitively with these other high-changing huacaya males and in the most competitive color category: fawn.

On to the show record, Boco Raton is a two-time Judges' Choice male winner, one under Robin Nasemann and the other under Beverly Brehm. He is also a two-time Best Bred & Owned Male winner, and 13-time Championship winner.

A standout since birth he is a super stylish male who is well balanced with a very appealing head type. As Julio once said “the head in the way into a great alpaca,” and this statement stands true with this young male. His fleece is fine and very dense, exhibiting highly aligned fibers across the whole of his body with extremely good uniformity of micron throughout. He is growing a good length of staple and coverage. His fleece is soft, bright and a very uniform fawn color. Extremely dense with high amplitude, high frequency, crimpy bundles being expressed across his whole body, varying very little from his rump, mid-side, and shoulder. There really is so much to like about this well-mannered male, and only enough can fit into this description.

He has an impeccable pedigree to match, having Snowmass Matrix Rose on both his dams and sires side, Snowmass Conopa XXX and MFI Peruvian Presumption in there to name just a few. His pedigree is completely unique and can only be found here at Red Granite Ranch. Boco Raton is a result of line-breeding. With Snowmass Matrix Rose on his top and bottom side of his pedigree he will be a pre-potent producer of uniformly fine and dense fleeces.

SPOTTY FANS, DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! ON OCTOBER 28, THIS SPECIAL BREEDING WILL BE OFFERED AT THE HERDSIRE AUCTION AT 2023 GOLD COUNTRY GATHERING/CALIFORNIA CLASSIC ALPACA SHOW IN ORLAND, CA.

EPIC X CELESTIAL CYGNUS

Gold Country Gathering 2021 Color Champion as a Juvie

CABA 2023 Color Champion as a 2yo

14 First Place ribbons

4 Second Place ribbons

If you are looking to add some appaloosa excitement to your herd, Cygnus is it!

This 2x Color Champion (winning as both a juvie and as a 2year old) is out of strong appaloosa genetic lines. Sire ENCHANTED HILL LUTAU is believed to be homozygous and grand sire VINTAGE CASHMERE'S U-TAUPE-IA have both proven to produce spots time and time again. Not only is this fleece full of spots, but stacked on-top of that is the great fleece qualities of maternal grand sire SNOWMASS ELITE LEGEND. We think Cygnus will produce lovely spotty fleeces as well. We know it can be hard to achieve the “total package” in these appaloosa fleeces, but Cygnus is pretty darn close. Cygnus has great uniformity between his beige and fawn colors, making it hard to distinguish which color you are feeling with your eyes closed. Not to mention his wonderful density, staple length, and crimpy micro bundles - his fleece just keeps getting better! All built on a solid frame with good size bone. His first offspring will hit the ground in December. If you want to be one of the first with Cygnus offspring, be sure to bid!

Special thanks to Michael Gomes at 5S Alpacas for this unique offering.

BIG TIMBER KAHUNA'S JOSEF

12x Champion Josef is producing Champions! His offspring are stunning with super fine micron, high gloss luster and beautifully dense lock structure. He is the ultimate prepotent stud that passes his superior traits to his offspring. Josef won his first Get of Sire class in 2018 as a five year old stud.

Josef is the son of multi-champion Pucara's Kahuna and Big Timber's award winning dam, KBTA's Kerolyn. His genetics are packed with the best suri bloodlines...Kahuna, Armani, Miquel, Uribe. Josef's offspring have proven his ability to pass through these awesome genetics.

Josef's fine fleece is dense with incredible staple length. His first fleece AFD was a superfine 17.1 micron with an SD of 3.3 and is ranked in the top EPDS in the country. His second year fleece was a close 19 micron with a continued SD of 3.3. As noted in his biopsy report below, at 45 months, his AFD is a very fine 21 micron. One of Josef's fleece strengths is his staple length. At over 4 years, his staple length is over 6.5 inches annual growth. His staple length along with his above average density contributes to his superior annual fleece weight of over 11 lbs., putting him in the top 1% for FW in the most recent EPDs.

In 2018, Josef won Reserve Invited Champion as a 4.5 year old competing against much younger animals. In 2017, Josef, as a 3.5 year old male, was awarded Invited Color Champion and First Place at the 2017 AOA National Halter Show for white suri male and Color Champion and First Place at the competitive 2017 CABA Classic Show. In 2016 as a mature male, he was awarded Color Champion and First Place at the 2016 Futurity Halter Show and First Place at the 2016 AOA Nationals Show. He also won First Place and Color Champion at the 2016 CABA show in both the halter and fleece shows.

Josef was evaluated in 2017 in the SHIP (Suri Herd Improvement Program) by Cheryl Gehly. He received a perfect 5 score in all conformation categories. For fleece characteristics, he scored perfect 5's for lock structure, uniformity of color and fleece phenotype. He scored 4.5's for density and handle. He scored 4's in the areas of luster (luster score of 18), fineness (20 micron) and uniformity of micron. Josef is truly the whole package!

Josef has outstanding rankings of Top 1-5% in the 2022 EPDs that confirm his genetic prepotence. Dr. Norm Evans conducted a skin biopsy analysis in 2017 on Josef at 45 months old. His true density is 53.5 follicles SQ MM of skin and 25 typical fiber clusters show an average S/P of 9.8 to 1. Tested 100 secondary fibers average of 20.1 microns while 50 primary fibers average 29.4 microns for a variation of 9.3 microns. Josef’s AFD on July 8, 2017 at 45 months of age figures 21.03 microns. Excellent results for a mature male.

Suri Breeders, this is for you! Join us at the 2023 Gold Country Gathering/California Classic (double show!) in Orland, California Oct. 27-29 for a chance to win this breeding at our Saturday night Herdsire Auction. He’s CLOSED to outside breedings, so this is your chance to add these fabulous genetics to your herd.

ZOLTAR of HALO

Zoltar is the product of two award winning alpacas: GLR Amayah (Judge's Choice 2014 Futurity) and the two-time Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Cinders. His genetics include GLR Picasso, Rockstar's Paloma, Shavano, MacGyver and Jackpot.

We specifically selected Zoltar to add to our dark program because of his stellar genetics and his fleece characteristics. He is very fine with a high degree of density.

At six months old, Zoltar won 4 championships in shows across the country, both halter and fleece. 2018 Suri Network Fleece Show- Cheryl Gehly- “Such fine secondaries in this lustrous fleece.”

Zoltar was biopsied in the spring of 2021 at 41 months of age. His 15x scan shows fiber clusters irregular in size and shape but uniform in placement within his connective tissue. His density measures 55 follicles SQ MM and his S/P ratio from 25 typical fiber cluster averaged 11.1 to 1. Zoltar's scans shows level 3 of 4 gland presence. His 250x scan shows less than 20% of secondary fibers with a degree of medullation which is rather uncommon in a true black. 100 typical secondary fibers averaged 21.5 microns while 50 typical primary fibers averaged 32.3 microns for an average S/P spread of 10.8. His AFD measures 22.46 microns.

Zoltar’s offspring are here, and they are amazing!!
